Official Funeral Service of Meekulu Jakobina T Sheehama

Founding President Sam Nujoma has expressed his sorrow following the passing of veteran of the liberation struggle, Meekulu Jacobina Taukondjele Sheehama.

Affectionately known as “Die Mee”, the 82-year-old Sheehama died on Monday in the Oshakati State Hospital.

“The late Meekulu Jacobina Taukondjele Sheehama formed part of a remarkable generation of freedom fighters that endured hardship and led our National Liberation Struggle to its successful conclusion,” he said.

“Together with her husband, the late Comrade David Sheehama and their children, she endured profound physical and emotional tortures at the hands of the white minority South African colonial regime during the war of our National Liberation Struggle.”
